Greens Aerated 4/3 and 4/4
Greens were aerated (punched with holes and sandy) on 4/3 and 4/4. Fairways were patchy but had grass which was better than the past summer. Should be better in a couple weeks!
Dycker beach
It was a decent course… pros- good overall pace, I had an early tee time so we didn’t have to wait long. You don’t lose your ball easily. Lost only 1 all day
Cons- no fairways to be found, I hit my drives pretty straight and all the grass looks the same from rough to fairway. Bunkers are like cement haven’t been raked in years.
Overall decent city course
Good shape for a well used Muni
I think I got a good day to play.
Weather was not looking great and there were a lot of tee times open in the morning under threatening rain. Had a 9AM tee time and was sent right out at 830 solo. A foursome was in front of me about three holes. Tees boxes were in surprisingly good shape. Fairways were a little beat up but overall not bad. Nice wide forgiving fairways. The greens were in excellent shape and well maintained. But like most NYC muni courses, the bunkers leave a little to be desired.
Beautiful setup of all 18 holes.
Played the round in 3 1/2 hours which was great only because it wasn’t crowded.
Definitely will be playing here again.
Needs Some TLC
Course just needs some care…
So many leafs on the fairways that it’s hard to find the ball. The rough is worse!
The bunkers look like they haven’t been racked in Months!
Was a great public course
Solid public course and glad a great time playing. For what it is was surprised at how it’s maintained compared to the reviews I saw prior. Had a great time.
slow slow slow
after 5 hours plus our foursome wasn"t even on the 16 hole with 2 other groups ahead of us on 16 spacing of the groups is horrendous..
Could Be Betrer
The course was suuuuuuuper dry and brown. The greens were inconsistent. It's hard to blame the staff on the dry climate and the fact that they just aerated the greens the previous week. Maybe I just timed my visit badly.
However, there were little things that annoyed me: shoe cleaners were missing half their bristles, the sprinklers went off on a green while another foursome was there, the cart paths were abysmal, and the carts were very outdated.
I actually shot very well for me, and I had a wonderful time with the other three guys I was with. The staff was friendly and open. I'd gladly go back again for the right price.
Ehh NYC course
If you must play in NYC I guess but if there are other options go for that. Enough said
Dry and burned
Love this course, played it many times over the years, but was shocked to see it in such bad shape, albeit the greens were green, t boxes ok, but the fairway was dirt, hope they find improvements to keep this course alive, but 80 is pretty steep
Avoid, course is unplayable
Avoid. Course is in shambles. No fairways only dried dirt. Greens are not maintained, full of sand. Bunker are dirt no sand. Horrific round even by public course standards. It’s in disarray
A Zero…
This course belongs in NYC. Raise the price for everything all the while providing a worst service. Where should we start.
You park and go retrieve your cart which is the saddest excused for a motorized way around a golf course. Ripped seats, broken suspension, trash.
You drive along the cart path, what path? More potholes and uneven payment than the dreads of brookyln.
You manage to hit a fairway yet your ball is on dirt. Not dried grass, dirt.
You make it around to the green and the sand that should be in the bunker is lumped in various spots around the green, making them unplayable.
This course is a zero (0) if this app allowed it.
Oh then go look at your bill and you start to believe your significant other that you wasted $80 today, because you in fact, threw it away. Along with all the other taxes you give Nyc. They should shut this place down.
Poor excuse for a golf course
The worst experience I have had on a golf course. Started 20 mins late, played behind slow players, finished in 5 hours. Greens were punched (forgivable), but the fairways are not remotely maintained nor watered. The amount we paid is far too much for the disgrace of a course we just played.
Sand in all the wrong places.
First off, Dyker for $70 seemed a bit steep, but it's convenient and had more times available than Marine Park. Unfourtunatly we soon realized why there were so many times available. The greens had more sand than the sand traps. Again, more sand than the traps. It's a disgrace that the course is allowed to book players without a warning when the greens are aeriated and had enough sand (easily 1"-2" in some places) for people to draw out letters and other shapes. There were also several holes where some clowns made a path for their putt in the green with the sand in order for it to have a better roll. Of course this effects every other golfer that comes after them - making sand art is usually reserved for the beach.
The fairways were rock hard and had 0 grass (it's a hot summer but still the fairways are dirt paths at this point.) Because of this it was very hard to hit any follow up shots past the tee shot. (Slight positive is that when you hit the ball 275 off the tee your total distance will be way over 300)
I wish the course was in better shape since it's right here in Brooklyn, but I would rather spend more time to travel anywhere farther than here.
