Overall POOR condition
Concrete portion of car paths are very hazardous(deep holes every few feet)....Sand traps are terrible,(hard dirt and rocks ) no sand at all.....fairways could've used a trim.....Greens were ok......
Weekday pace of play Soooo much better then the weekend
Able to tee off on time(truly rare event here). Completed the round in 4 hours , fairways and greens in good condition as are the tee boxes. Carts are in desperate need to be replaced but first the cart paths have to be fixed.
Disappointing
The carts were run down. The cart paths were in complete disarray. They were chewed up and ridden with potholes. I’ve been playing at Dyker for ever and I’ve never be more disappointed.
Slooooowwwwww Round
Fairways and greens were in good condition . Bunkers looked unplayable(I was not in any). !2:30 tee time...did not go off till 1:30. Even with some groups leaving after 10th hole round still took over 5 hours to play . Have not played here due to bad reviews about course conditions but aside from the bunkers that is not the real issue here. Pace of play was never good before and obviously still very poor.
American Golf sucks
American Golf's contract to manage this course (and two others on Staten Island) expires in Jan. 2024. They stopped caring about these courses back in early 2020. I won't play any of these courses again until new management takes over. They'll have some incentive to attract paying customers.
Needs improvement
Bubkers have no sand, carts have no brakes, and they still charge full price $74 dollars. Needs big time improvement.
In great shape
Was pleased to see that the course was in great shape. I usually play at marine park, but I will play Dyker Beach more as long as it stays in shape.
Dyker
The bunkers need a lot of work
And the grass can be often too deep
Called Dyker Beach but no Sand in bunkers
Course is not in good shape. Bunkers are completely unplayable and some of the worst I have seen. Grass has not fully grown in in the fairways. NY Parks and Recs is not providing enough funding for this course to keep up with course maintenance and its a shame especially with the amount of business and closeness to golfers based in NYC.
Cart Paths are falling apart and need to be redone as well.
On a positive note - we got around in 4hours and is the fastest I've seen pace of play over the last 8 years - but probably due to the course not being in good shape. Staff is great out there and laments at the lack of funding to be able to maintain what was once a course in great shape.
please fix bunkers
I do understand that covid has taken its toll but golf play is way up and it's been 2 years and they are charging full price so i would expect the bunkers to have sand that could be racked not hardpan with grass growing out some spots, it is betterthis year but not there yet. the rest of the couse is looking great.
dyker beech
I was told i had to share a cart with a stranger ,
i was told at counter that i could pay an additional $20 for a cart of my own, I did that reluctantly ,
i went outside and waited ten minutes but no one gave me a cart or a key to drive a cart,
i went inside got my $20 back and left the course
poor experience there to say they least
