Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Terrific layout
Course in great shape. Greens roll true and fast.only negative was the bunkers had a lot of rocks.
slow
The round took 5 hours and fifteen minutes. There were about 10 groups of ladies holding up the entire course. I don't care what your gender or ability level is. Everyone should play ready golf. This means getting out of your cart waling to your ball and begin your pre-shot routine while your cart partner is hitting. This clearly wasn't taking place. I waited on every shot for 18 holes on a Tuesday.
Always in great shape
I was very impressed in how great shape this courses was in. It has always been very well kept from the first time I played it. I remember the trees being planted along the 18th hole by the diving range back in the 90's The greens were true and flawless, and the fairway like a rug.
Hills
I love Pine Hills. The course is always in tip top shape and the greens were very good. I like fast and they were. We had a 12:18 tee time and played in 4.5 hours. The practice areas are one of the best on Long Island. Putting green chipping green with a sand trap and a driving range where you hit off grass.
Nice course to play
Enjoyed the back nine more than the front 9. Course is in great condition. Unfortunately we were held up for all of the back nine. Will definitely come back to play.
beautiful golf
course in fabulous shape. greens are good. fairways good. perfect golf experience.
Very nice day
Time to install GPS in e carts, especially since rherre are no yardages in th sprinkler heads. Would like greens to be a luttle faster. But I alays enjoy playing here.
course is in perfect shape
Course was perfect Played in 3.5 hours. Only drawback is you cannot get a cart until 1/2 hour before tee-time (hard to hit a bucket of balls prior to teeing off.
AWESOME!!!!! That's it. Course was in great shape!!!!! Worst part of the day was the skunky beer in the bar after our round.
Great course, great staff
The course was in great playing condition. Wide fairways, well trimmed roughs, and challenging greens also made this a golfer's course. Trees trimmed high for clear line of sight. Staff courteous and professional from pro shop till dropping off of cart. Daughter and I had great time golfing and time together. Definitely will return and recommend.
Course is in great shape
Excellent round ... fairly challenging... need to keep it straight. Greens were in pretty good shape.
afternoon delight
This course is fun. I hit it 200 to 215 off the tee and can get it on the green or close in regulation. The place is always in great condition and the rounds last under 4 hours every time. The only negative was they have problems with the 5th and 6th greens and they can be inconsistent with speed and movement from one round to another, This is not a big deal and the groups I have played with universally love this course. the staff is always helpful and agreeable.
Great course with character
Read old school lay out great course very challenging great value
Great Course
This is one of LI’s best public courses. Greens are not yet in great condition but once they are the greens are the best around. One drawback, for some unknown reason, you cannot check-in for your tee time until 1/2 hour prior. Makes no sense. I arrived 45 minutes prior to tee time so that I could use the range and putt etc. I was sold a range token but told I couldn’t check in for my round for another 15 minutes. So, if you want to use the range, instead of going to the first tee afterwards, which is adjacent to the range, you have to drive back to the clubhouse to check-in and then drive back to the first tee. Another silly golf course policy. Meanwhile at Bethpage, if you don’t check in at least one hour prior to your tee time, you risk losing it!! How about making things convenient for paying customers instead of more difficult for no reason?
Best course around...
The course is always in wonderful shape, regardless of the time of year. Great staff and a terrific bar/restaurant JC’s waiting for you after your round. If you get the chance to play Pine Hills, don’t pass it up!
