Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Great GC and Nice Golfers
Whenever I play here, I'm always satisfied with not only the spacious and pretty good layout but also with nice people (staff, starter even golfers whom I met). Especially my wife loves to play here.
Great course in great condition! Greens could be faster but for the sake of keeping play moving along theyre perfect. Only thing I would recommend is divot fill on tees and carts. Be back soon!
Dreadful pace of play after 1:30
Greens were slower than usual and it took us 5:21 to play. Beverage cart quit at 4.
Real nice golf course thought
Great course layout. I found every hole challenging. If the par 4 was only 350 yards the greens were difficult. Great test of your golf game with a great bar and restauran to tell you golf stories at.
Pinehills
The Course was in great shape. The only thing that needs to be added is fresh sand in the bunkers. Sparse sand in many bunkers. Otherwise the Course is a true Gem!!!
Consistently Great !
We love this course ( my weekly Group) play here as much as we can , it’s our home course ... everting from tee box fairways to greens always very consistent ... nothing but good things to say ... Great Pro shop ! Jimmy Conway is the PGA pro at the course .. Give PineHill a go
Par for the course
Not too bad, I’ve definitely played it when it’s been in better condition, the greens were in ok shape but definitely could’ve been a lot better. It’s to be expected at a public course, but the pace of play was less than ideal, when a twosome is holding up a foursome there’s definitely an issue there. All in all, not my worst experience at a course.
Great playable track
Really enjoyed my round today at Pine Hills.
1) easy access from Route 27
2) great staff
3) course in great condition
4) course is playable (you get rewarded for good shots & penalized for bad shots)
5) cart girl drives around frequently
6) bar/restaurant on premise is good
7) greens are in good shape & offer interesting breaks
Round took 4 hours 50 minutes! No rangers. Greens were hairy and pock-filled... I used to play this course regularly; but it’s going to take supreme effort to give it another chance.
The course was in great shape and we teed off as a twosome at 610 am and played in 2 hours and 20 minutes. The pace of play made for a great round. Didn't have time to use the rest of the facilities but will be back to play again.
If you could please expand upon your review, and why it is only 3 stars that would be great. The course has been getting great reviews so I would like to know why this review is so low.

Awesome round, rude starter
Excellent round this morning with one caveat - the starter was a total jerk and almost had us delayed 25 minutes because he couldn't calculate how many people were on the tee sheet. When we pointed out the error he began berating us and was completely rude.
Course was in awesome shape so if you can avoid this starter I highly recommend.
Greens and fairways are in great shape.
Course good for all playing levels.
Waited on hole 12 about 15 minutes to tee off.
Round was played in about 5 hours. Should have been better.
Nice place
Green are in excellent shape just love it enjoyable round.i have nothing bad to say about this place
Great track
Layout is beautiful. Trees around the course cause just enough trouble, don't go for the hero shot... Take your medicine and punch out to avoid big numbers. Fairways and greens rolled very true and the entire course was manicured beautifully. Definitely will be back.
Where’s the ranger?
I have played course before and like it, altho rounds are usuallly slow. This time it was very frustrating because first 3 holes went quickly. . At hole 4, we caught up to a 5some, yes a 5some, in front of us. They tremendously slowed up play and made round horrible. Even with this experience, I would still recommend this course. To the staff DONT SEND OUT 5SOMES.
Worth returning
Course in great shape.
Attached restaurant a bonus
I am sorry you had a bad experience when visiting our course. I have not heard any complaints about the greens this season (I actually have heard they were very good) so I am surprised by your review. If you could please e-mail me @ jflanagan@heatherwood.com we can go over your experience again, and hopefully improve upon our performance.
