fairways & geese Photo submitted by rammartin on 05/08/2015
Great course good value
Very nice course - played for $50 which was worth the hour drive from manhattan. Great staff!
Nice Course in Good Condition
Pair up with three other guys; had a very enjoyable time.
this course has great par 3s
That the course was put back together after Sandy great , going back for sure.
Like playing in Scotland
Lido is one of the courses that you see many conditions in one round. The condition of the course right now is pretty bad, they are just getting over last weeks flood. It is flat and has a lot if water on it. It is not a course for he weak of heart, since as you finish 16and17 can drive you crazy. I always enjoy playing there but I realize that there are holes that you might hit a seven iron or a three wood, depending on the wind and it always gets windy at some point. It is not a club with unbridled amenities, but what is there is more than adequate. It's not Maidstone but it is worth the daily fee.
Lido Beach
I found the course challenging, windy, able to reach greens even though windy had to go up a club sometimes 2 clubs due to wind, heavily infested with geese, need umbrella from falling geese increment, will play again in immediate future
Lido not yet greened up for spring.
The course is still threadbare after the winter as of 4/28/14. The grass doesn't seen to be growing much yet. The greens were aerated the week before, but were OK considering. Goose turds were everywhere! They need a dog or two to give chase. Groundsmen were working on improving the drainage into the ponds.
Weather is key here, it was a nice spring day when I played, but the course is flat and open and it plays much tougher when the wind blows most days.
Nice views of the bay from nine of the holes.
Needs a lot of improvement
Obviously the course had been badly damaged by Sandy and the guys didn't have time or money to fix it. Missing signs and directions, geese waste everywhere, very windy. Maybe in the summer will be a nice place for golf, but I didn't enjoy playing in April. Needs a lot of work. So said.
Great course design, but poor condition.
Course design is great link course., but many signs are missing for Hole and direction, So confusing which hole is right hole to play, None of ball wash worked. Green was slow with many geese waste. May be course is not fully operational yet. Electric cart was quite and well operating. Maybe, Course will be great when it is fully operational. I like to play in summer again.
Nice course on the water
Nice staff good pace of play 16th hole is tuff the only negative thing about this course is were the driving range is located.
Boring...
Played with my body after the couples of rainy days.
Course management did not allowed cats so we had to walk with pool-carts.
If you didn't play the course it is difficult task to locate the rite holes, but we had a booklet with the layouts.
Course is kind of boring, considering the traffic to get here is not worth it...
skip it
No carts available but that wasn't indicated on golf now. All the course had to do was call golf now to update their change for the day. More geese and standing puddles than there are people playing the course. Really needs a ton of work. Never a great course but it went from decent to deplorable. I understand we had a bad winter but I've gotten out to 4 other courses and lido was in the worst shape by a mile. Save your money and play somewhere else.
Great links course
Great comeback from devastating Hurricane Sandy. the course was in good shape. Pace of play was fast and the price very fair.
