Fun course
Course was very windy. Had a lot of fun
Enjoy the course a lot
Must play
great views
The course was in nice condition and had spectacular views of the water, pace of play was pretty slow, but that is my only complaint. Had a burger at the halfway house that was awesome.
go visit Lido Beach
greens were in excellent condition. the course was in very good condition and we were surprised with the thickness of the rough.very challenging. it was windy but that was to be expected.overall we had a great day.the staff was terrific
Lido Beach Golf Club
This was my first play at Lido Beach Golf , the course was in very good condition. The starter was nice enough to give us the hole guide that described better each hole. He was also gracious in showing us the key holes where blind shots near water existed. Distances matched well to the card, as did hole yardage markings.
Signage on where the next tee could have been better.
Would recommend course to all levels of play
wind always a factor
I think wind is always a factor here, that adds to the challenge of this course. There are holes where you can let it rip and others where you have to place it. Course was in very good shape as were the greens. They were true and well kept. Had a very good round except for the holes where I let the wind get the best of me.
Better since last year
Course is finally recovering from sandy
In solid shap still lots of blank spots
the greens were in great shape
overall the course was in great shape no aeration yet and the greens were very good
Look out for the wind
Nice course...pace of play slow... not sure if it was the water, the wind or in general? have to give it another try...they should cut away some of the reeds so we can enjoy the water on the course.. especially on the back 9...have the burger or the chowder at the turn...nice
Great fun and very challenging
The course is in ok condition but many fairways had ropes restricting access to shots that land there. Greens were in top shape.
I didn't think the wind was too much of a bother but it definitely makes you think twice about clubbing up. The 16th was as tough and challenging as advertised. Will have to play it several times before I can decide what's the best way to attack it.
Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Definitely recommend people to try it out if you want to experience something out of the ordinary. But playing here too often will probably jack up your handicap.
Typical Saturday
For a Saturday as expected pace of play was slow but made more enjoyable by the course good spread.
Challenging course and fairways could have been better maintained.
Overall not bad again the janikowski burgers and staff made the day more enjoyable!
Big improvement over last year
From dropping off our clubs, signing in,our 18 hole round and finishing was a great experience.Everyone we dealt with were courteous and helpful. The course is improving each time we play it.They are working hard to improve the conditions throughout the course. We will go back for another round!
Challenging with a View
This course has great views of Reynold's Channel ... but the tranquility of picturesque layout is constantly disrupted by air traffic into JFK ... if you like planes, you'll LOVE Lido!! After a while, like living under "the el", you hardly notice them except as a diversion while waiting to tee off!
The course was in great shape ... we were happy to have been given a course guide by the starter - it was a great help, particularly because it was our first time there. We loved the course and will definitely return again ... it was worth the hour trip from out on Long Island.
The holes were all interesting - the fairways were good and the green in excellent condition. The signature 16th was baffling (a double watercross) ...but next time we'll be more familiar with its challenge.
The course is long and even though we didn't have much wait-time through the day, it took our foursome just under 5 hours to complete the round. There was a wonderful sea breeze all day, but since there is little protection from the sun, we were happy the day's clouds kept the temperature very comfortable. Some of the tee areas near the reeds were a little buggy - bring your repellent and a number of the fairways are close to each other -- we encountered a number of "incomings". Overall, it's a course not to be missed -- you'll have a great day!
Waterside gem
Great recovery from sandy I've never seen the course in better shape the greens and. Fairways are great the rough is a little spotty been playing here for 10 years
Solid
My first time playing there this year. I was impressed with the course conditions. Better manitained than in years past. The pace of play was ok and we finished in 4 1/2 hours but we waited on every shot and we started at 745. They should have rangers helping move people along, looking for golf balls and keeping pace of play. I would go back again.
Links excellence
Great course, beautiful scenery, nice people all mitigated by 6 hour pace of play. Maybe even the hint of a Ranger or Marshall might speed up play even a little, but no evidence that pace of play was monitored much less enforced. 5 hours is a long round, 6 hours is unacceptable and renders this course unplayable by all but those who cause such delays. Therefore In good conscience and regarding avid golfers I cannot give this course more than one star for overall rating
Nice place, nicely cared for. Great greens.
I was really surprised how well it looked after "Sandy". Nice landscaping and flowers. The
course was nice, but challenging at times. The greens were in great shape (but small). The staff
was very helpful & friendly. I'll be back soon....
Six Hour Round
Slowest round ever and I ended up with food poisoning. Not a banner day. Course is very tough and if not for the wait would be considered a must play.
Making a comeback
Nice comeback from Sandy !!
Lets hope it continues , course in great shape,
but still needs more maintenance. It could be something great
Earlier the time, better pace of play
I've played this course a few times and I've learned the later in the day you tee off the slower the round. I prefer to play 4 hours or under for a 4some playing 18. Never happens here if you tee off any later then 9 on a weekend. Very open course, couple of tough holes on the back 9. Especially for first time playing the course.
Slow But Steady
On a picture perfect day I had a fun round at unique course. nestled along The Reynolds Channel brings water into play in several holes. I would definitely play again...but perhaps not on a Sunday Morning. The round took over 5 hours due to slow play...ugh!
