Cold Cheeseburger
Ordered my cheeseburger and played with two people who ordered 2 hot dogs and beers at the 9th tee box. We were under the impression that they would come meet us at the 10th tee to make the transaction. Nope, after playing the 10th hole we called and had to drive all the way up to the clubhouse to get our food. Cold burger for $15 lol. Pathetic. Also pathetic that it’s mats only at the driving range. Nice course though. That’s about it. Made the 2 hr drive from LI bc I’m sick and tired of LI courses by the time fall comes. Hopefully this course does better in regards to communication.
Guest Is Never Right.
Nice place with a lot of room for improvement in the customer service department.
Beautiful course
Beautiful Pete Dye course, no public course in the tristate area like it. For the money conditions could be better. Course is very soft, greens leave footprints etc... not many people fixing their marks. But overall it’s a great layout, fun to play but tough. Not a flat lie anywhere on the course.
Aggressive staff / punched greens
Staff is confrontational . Searched our bags for alcohol then tried to get us to pay for a errant ball that cRacked out golf cart gps. Sent ranger out to watch our groups. Bunch of deush bags working there.
Pound Ridge
Been wanting to play here and got a hot deal which made it a bit better. The staff was fantastic, covid measures very good. The scenery was incredible, course is in good shape even though the greens were just aerated. A really nice day and will hopefully be up to play again soon.
Pound Ridge
Course is stunningly beautiful. Bunkers were perfectly maintained, make sure to play the appropriate tee's. Some of the staff could have been friendlier
High price - limited amenities
Price to play is extremely high which is fine for a prestigious course. BUT - cart path only is mandatory during week. The clubhouse is locked up like a prison and states “no outside food or beverage”but also no access to on site food or beverage after tee off.
Tried to order a beer and was told I had to order a sandwich to have one due to “state law” Not sure what law was passed just in Pound Ridge ?
Overall a gem of a course but the strict rules using the Covid excuse made for a long, thirsty and expensive day. Disappointed charge full price for limited service
A must play course, but it's expensive
First off, the staff was not as rude as alot of people made them out to be. They are following COVID policies and as long as you respect that, you will find they were very friendly and willing to talk about the course and your experience.
The course layout is absolutely beautiful. Some wider open holes littered with sand traps while some holes meandered through the woods. Alot of elevation change, dramatic shots and undulating fairways made this course a real beautiful challenge.
Tee boxes were great, no complaints. Fairways weren't as short as you'd expect for the money, but were somewhat fast and visually appealing. The greens were pretty quick, if I had to guess, no more than an 11. However, the grass was thin which made it really difficult to fix ball marks without fixing it so that it was half grass half dirt (you know what i'm talking about). Hence ball marks and cleat marks were very noticeable and visually unappealing, especially given the price point. But they did run quick and were pretty true. The sand was actually great, no complaints. No rakes due to COVID Rough was fair, but not uniform all over as you'd expect from a high end club. There were some weedy spots and straight burnt spots near and around the green. For the most part it was fine, but you'd be expecting country club conditions and it wasn't quite there.
Pro shop closed, dining closed, single rider carts and small PVC things in the cups to prevent the ball from falling (actually feels like real putting), due to COVID. And expect a 5 hour round. It's a tough course that attracts tourists (like myself).
This place is beautiful. Its fun to look at and it's definitely a challenge, especially if you play the tips. You'll remember every hole, but you'll also remember what you spent. It's not at all worth the $220. It's worth $140 at the very most. Rough and greens especially need to be healthier to fetch that price point. That's on price point with Atunyote and while PR may have a better design, the conditions just aren't there.
Great course
One of the best, if not the best, public courses I’ve played. Beautifully designed course, a bit tough for the average golfer like me but don’t be put off by that.
Nice but tight
Nice course and layout. Definitely not a course for inexperienced golfers. Course and fairways are very narrow, but in very good shape. Greens are some of the best I’ve played all year. Hard, fast and true which was fun. A few holes you really have to drive ahead in your cart to figure out your next shot, and see where the group in front of you is. Par 3’s were excellent. Staff was very friendly, but planned on staying for a bite and a beer after the round but the clubhouse / restaurant was closed. Would have bought a shirt as well, so there loss I guess. A little pricey, and don’t think it’s worth north of $200 on weekends. Tee times were spaced out although playing in 4 hour and 40 minutes on a Thursday morning was a bit long. I will definitely go back again soon.
