True challenge
Hidden gem , def worth a look , not easy , probably take a few rounds to get to know the course , don’t play here if you suck. ! Won’t be fun for you or the group behind you , First time there , greens a little slow but true , overall,
up there with all top courses in NY , I’ll be back soon for revenge !
All things considered
beautiful course on a very nice day. Very friendly staff. On time start and very courteous starter. Very nice carts. The whole experience was very good. Holes well marked. I liked the handicap rating associated with tee placement.
The only issue on the day was an inconsiderate group behind that hit an approach shot into our tee box without a call out warning. No fore. No apology.
Unbelievable
This course is unbelievable but don’t show up if your not ready to play good golf it’s extremely tough many uneven lies and some extremely tough golf but extremely fun you should definetley go play if your looking for a fun round
Pete Dye doesn’t disappoint
I love Pete Dye courses... just not when I play them. This course is a true gem. You have the typical Pete Dye mounding and never a flat lie even in the fairway. The greens were fast and true even with a bit of sand still let on them. It’s not a long course but it will make you pay. It’s really a shame this is the only Dye track in New York
One of the best!
This golf course will transport you to a place where you feel like a member at an exclusive club and are playing one of the world’s best courses. A terrific and challenging design. Better have your driver working for this course, bc you’re first shot will make or break you. Bring lots of golf balls if you don’t. Take advantage of the less expensive rate of $100/$125 while you can. Grass was a bit long when we played but given the times I can’t complain.
The best ...
It’s simply the best in the area, bar none. For public golf, that is. And while it is expensive, the price point I believe is very fair. You would never get a per round cost as low as $250 per if you were a member of one of the local private clubs. And the golf conditions are on par with the private clubs. The pace of play is unmatched as well.
The only potentially negative thing I would say is that the course is fairly penal from either of the back two tees - forced carries of 200-210 are not uncommon. And thus very long tight approaches. Takes some of the strategy out of a WONDERFUL design.
If it wasn’t for great course
Customer experience isn’t prioritized one bit. From the time you drive on to the property until the time you leave- customers are the last priority. Expect strict rules, expect cart path only Monday-Thursday. Expect the club house not to have ice. Expect no water on the course. Expect no ranger.
Great course layout. Unfortunately the management makes it hard to enjoy. I’ll be back. I wish it was easier to have fun.
Great track
Great layout very challenging course we played from the Oak tees. Definitely one of the premier public courses in the area. Can’t wait to play it again
The tall heavyset starter was incredibly rude to my 2 friends.
We had just finished in 90 degree weather and saw he had bottles of water.
We went to take one because we were parched and he said it is only when you go out, not when you come back. When we teed off at 8am, no one offered us water.
He then became obnoxious when discussing cooler rules (we had brought a cooler with water but was told no coolers).
There was no reason for him to be agressively irritated with us. His assistant starters also had the same negstive attitude
Over priced
Not worth the money but it’s the only decent public track in the area so what are ya gonna do...
Great course tough hilly layout
Excellent condition but with greens were a bit faster but would of made it harder. I struggled to break 90 and I’m good golfer
