Challenging off the tee
More challenging than it's sister course, Charleston Pines, especially off the tee. Also, larger, more undulating greens, more forced carries, and well designed and positioned bunkers. Course was dry as most courses in this area have been this spring, so fairways were in great shape and the rough was not as high or as thick as when we have played it in early fall. Enjoyable course, but it would be a tough walk.
Fast play good conditions would recommend to anyone/
Had a great time. No issues with slow play finished in 3:30 on a friday afternoon. Greens were in good condition and fairly fast for the slope. No weeds on the course and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks for all the kind words! We are very happy to see that you would recommend our course to anyone! Hope to see you back soon!
Always a good time
Of the two courses at Lima, this one is far more interesting. Course in great condition and always beautiful. Island oaks offers challenge and interest. The clubhouse has a very nice restaurant and bar with a friendly atmosphere.
Thank you for the great review. We work hard on maintaining the course, and are glad to see you found it up to par! We also thank you for stopping by the clubhouse! We hope to have you back at Lima very soon!
Lima Country club
Have played both courses in the past 2 weeks. Both were in good shape. Greens were excellent.Food is always good, Staff is freindly. Recommend it for a good time.
Thank you for your kind words! We take pride in our staff and make it a priority to keep our greens in great condition.
Good Course
The Island Oaks course was in excellent condition. The greens were fast enough to be challenging by making you concentrate and committed on the line or you will miss on the edges as happened to me. Fairways were in great shape. It is a good enough challenge with very fair length holes, unless you are one of those who likes very wide fairways throughout so you can boom it. The course is worth a try for anyone enjoying a round with water, strategically placed bunkers, tough greens and narrow fairway challenges. Hit 'em good!
island oaks
A short challenging course. Forgiving off of most tees. Sand traps placed around greens keep you sharp. Challenging par 3's and very true greens. Great price with Golf Now.
Greens in poor condition
We have played this course several times in the past.
This yr. it didn't seem to be maintained as well as prior years. Greens were very rough.
Variety of holes is pleasing
Really nice course. Second hole is almost an island hole very eye pleasing. Distance to this par 3 varies from 100-130 yds
Fun course but also challenging!
Enjoyable round
Pace of play was a little slow, but Beautiful day, nice course and the golf now price was great.
3rd bad experience in Lima
I arrived a half hour early, and immediately the man at the pro shop began saying he wasn't letting me out until another single arrived because he doesn't make any money from golf now. (This is my third and last time playing Lima because each time the people there are upset I used golf now) He ended up letting me play early if I rented a cart. However he failed to mention there were 4 foursomes just ahead of me. By the time I was putting on the first hole the other single was right behind me. I ended up playing with him for the remainder of the course.
As for course conditions, I stepped in a hole in the tee box that was filled with muddy water. I understand there are holes if you are off the fairway, but in the tee box is ridiculous if you are charging 26 for a round of golf.
The first 2 times I went to Lima the clubhouse wasn't serving food (Friday and Saturday afternoon) and this time they had a cart girl that I saw on hole 15 and 16, but not before.
Overall, this is too far to drive to be treated rudely by the time you start golfing. Pick a different course.
greens in great shape
course was In good shape. I have seen it better. overall it was worth going to play with golfnow it was great price.
A nice course to play on
The fairways and greens are in good shape generally. However, cart paths are full of bumps and pot holes due to disrepair. We were playing at a great pace until things started to slow down at the turn. The rating could have gone up to 4 with some tender loving care and better play flow management.
Island Oaks
This course was phenomenal, TOTALLY, beautiful scenery, laid out well, great trees, ponds, water, everything. The speed of the greens was THE BEST I have played this year, BY FAR, and I have played a lot of excellent courses already, can't recommend it enoug, OUTSTANDING. Thank you Island Oaks.

Course Management
The use of a competent Ranger would've made play smoother, one foursome holding up the whole course due o waiting for each and every player to hit before getting ready themselves. Also, putts less than a foot away were marked and putted, not conceded! We are not professionals by any means.
Get ready and go.
Love Island Oaks
This has always been one of my favorite courses, worth the ride from Rochester. Right amount of challenges and conditions, plus a nice friendly staff.
Nice course, tough if you can't hit it straight
A lot of trees and hazards at Island Oaks. Not an easy course. Very easy on the eyes though. Would definitely go back!!!
Island Oaks review
I love this course. Got a sweet deal on Golf Now. The roosters were still crowing on the 2nd hole. With all the rain we have had the course was in great shape. There are even a few balls washers on the women's tees!
A great value and fun too
I have played this course a few times a year for over 5 years. It is a fair drive from Rochester, but worth the time and effort. I really enjoy Island Oaks more than its twin, Charleston Pines. This is the more interesting and perhaps more difficult one. From the white tees it can be difficult for us older folks to reach the greens in two. The gold tees would make it very doable. The restaurant and bar are better than average and you should consider lunch after your round.
Thank you for the 4 Stars. We appreciate the great feedback regarding the course. It is definitely a bit challenging, but always enjoyable. Hope to see you back out here soon!
