the entire golf course was in fantastic shape.fairways ,greens, and bunkers.well worth the money.looking forward to playing there soon!
Conditions were excellent for this time of year. Greens were rolling well and looked great. The rough was long and needed cutting...Probably due to the recent wet weather...although the course itself has drained well. I love the views and the elevation of the East nine and finished up on the back nine which is my favorite side. I really enjoy playing here and booked it for a fair price on Golf Now.
Exce;;ent condition
I played the East 9 and the first 9. Course condition is excellent. I never needed to touch my ball. The greens are very fast and true. My only complaint is that the greens are mostly turtle shell shaped with sloping sides so that the ball tends to roll off the back or sides and it's rare to find a pin placement on a level spot because there aren't many. I still recommend this course.
Wonderful
This course was in great condition, the fairway were like velvet and the greens were well maintained.
A little bit of a travel from NYC, however I will definitely be back. A must try!
This golf course superintendent knows what he's doing.
Course condition
Course in excellent condition for this time of the year
Such a nice experience
Have played here numerous times , nice layout, Played East and then Front nine. Drove from North Jersey. The staff at the course could not be nicer. Always a pleasure , most of the time the pace of play is under 4 hours. Will be back again and again.
Apple Greens
Excellent course,27 holes. Beautiful views. Greens in great shape..
What a gem
I have to say that this is one of my most favorite golf course to play at this time of the year.. not a leave on the fairway the sand bunkers where in great shape and the greens were in fantastic shape
Amazing Fall Golf
I have played Apple Greens about a dozen times and it is always a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely friendly. The starter and on course marshalls do an outstanding job to ensure your round is enjoyable. The views of the Hudson Valley in the fall are stunning. The course is in great shape and definitely a great "Bang for your Buck." The only thing I would like to see is new driving range equipment as the mats, tees, and club rack are a bit outdated.
A beautiful course
greens had been aerated the week before our game. Because of the underlying quality of the course the round was still enjoyable. Superb layout. Great fairways. Tees were a bit woolly but ok. The east course has fantastic elevated views and a few undesirable blind shots.
Would gladly play again.
Staff were very friendly except for clerk in pro SHOP
Decent course off the beaten trail
Pretty scenery. Course is in decent shape for the price. Have played here once or twice a year for about 10 years or so. Usually you can get a tee time and the course is rarely crowded so kudos on them maintaining the course every year. Many courses like this have let their conditions deteriorate of late. On the original two nines, "One" and "Two", there are a few gimmicky holes but overall ok layout. But the new nine, "East" , is just not that great. The conditions are ok but, with the exception of a few of the holes, most are oddly laid out. Visually not really providing targets, narrow fairways with some slopes, divided areas. The red and certainly the gold tees are a bit too short. So for a public course that's reasonably priced and accessible, the original two nines are just fine.
Always in Great Shape
Apple Greens is always in great shape, fast greens and friendly staff.
Nice surprise
Two nines are fairly flat and open with elevated firm greens (not much rain lately, greens were quick and smooth, just not as receptive as they might be).
The third nine is hilly with grand vistas, lovely to play. Could be tough if you are wild off the tee.
Course plays short, but that could just be the firmness from dry conditions.
Apple Greens
This course is fantastic for the average player but challenging with pin placement, I have now played all three 9 hole courses and almost every hole is lined with apple trees. The course is in great shape although an hour drive from me it was well worth the drive and would do it again anytime. I highly recommend trying to play 2 and Eastern. Typically with Golf Now the starter stated that they will only put you on course 1 and Eastern.
great views
Course conditions were excellent friendly staff and great views . Could not ask for anymore.
Nice track.
This is a well kept course with true rolling greens that are nice. The greens were the best part. I like this course, but wish I had played from the tips. It felt too short from the white tees. This course does demand accurate tee shots as many of the fairways are lined with apple trees. It seems like a maze in the trees when looking for a golf ball! The one thing I would say is that many of the holes have the same or similar length =/- a few yards. I felt as though I was playing the same hole many times. We were almost hit with more than one ball from other close holes.
I did find this to be a beautiful setting, but not my favorite type of golf course. I prefer that holes are seperated further apart from one annother. I traveled over an hour to play here and am not in any rush to go back. Not to knock this place, but it didnt really "wow" me like I was expecting.
As far as course conditions go, it is hard to find a public track with better conditions in this price point! I have no complaints there. I just like a different style of golf course. Hitting pitching wedge or shorter approach shots all day gets kind of boring.
I must note: The Burger in the 19th Hole was HUGE! I had it for lunch and skipped dinner as a result! It was tasty too!
Apple Greens Review
Nice course with some beautiful scenery. Played it for the first time in the early spring, would love to play a round in the fall as I imagine it is breathtaking with the apple trees and a little more color.
Course conditions were nice considering it's not even April and the staff was very nice as well. Would recommend this course to any golfer between a 0 and 30 handicap.
An oasis in the desert!
Have lived in the are for 10 yrs and never played here because It was cost prohibitive. But GolfNow has changed that for many! Thanks GolfNow. The course is in wonderful condition and I play their sometime 3 times a week!
Will be back....
Course in great shape.....this is always a good place to play in the area....like the east 9....will be back...
