Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

Has potential...
This course has the potential, and it looks like it's a great layout, but the horrible conditions of the tee box, and the amount of unrepaired ball marks on the green is what's holding it back.
Also, the holes that have green side bunkers, had small rock all over. My buddy missed perfectly rolled putts because of those rocks.
The worst part about this course is that they have only 1 practice green and it's only 20ft x 15ft, which was completely chewed up. The last thing I do before I tee off is lag putt long putts, but I couldn't because you have to putt through dead spots and mud.
They also ran out of rage balls.
I wouod definitely go back, but I think it wouod be more enjoyable if they maintained their course the way they should be maintaining a quality course like Garrison.
Was better the last time
I would gladly paid $95 like I did today to play this course. If it was like the last few time I played here(a year ago) green were full with ball marks . The course in it self has not been groom like it used to be. Hope That changes for the better. Really like this course
Really tough, but challenging
Being a senior citizen Garrison is a very challenging course. However, having played there many times over the years I was able to enjoy a great round of golf.
Enjoyable day.
Was a bit slow today, but not as bad as last week. Little over 4 hours. Course is in good shape, but folks don't repair ball marks.
Great challenging muni
This course definitely worth a try if you are looking for a course with challenging undulation and slopping greens.
good pace of play. and friendly staff.
Great scenic course in the majestic Hudson valley
I was early and starter let me right out alone.
Greens were very fast.
Foursome in front let me play through.
At 10th elderly couple let me play through.
A few slow pokes towards the end.
Water around 14 a little funky?
All in all a beautiful, well manicured course with some great views of the valley!
Charged for a cart
My GolfNow reservation was to include the cart. When I got to the course they charged me for the cart. Nice course, will definitely play it again.
A day with friends
Great course, I loved the layout snd cannot wsit yo play it again,
Neglected
tee boxes in terrible condition. Ladies tees were random areas of grass. Bunkers are not well defined. Old cart paths, really bumpy. A really tough course with no relief for inaccurate shots. Seemed like it's been neglected for years.
Not worth what the asking price.
Most if not all the tee boxes are ripped up and uneven. Also golfnow says the rate is $55 but when you get to the course they charge you $65, bad communication between the course and golfnow. Save your money for a better course.
Amazing Course with Amazing Views
Don’t know how many times I’ve golfed here but every time is memorable! Great course, amazing views and great staff! My favorite place to golf!
Garrison, the gem of the Hudson Valley
Booked through golf now. From the start the staff we courteous. The course is somewhat difficult. Beautiful views of the Hudson River and West Point on some holes. Course is hilly and expect to lose some golf balls.
I will be back. Peace
