Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone
About
Turning Stone’s marquee eighteen is a Tom Fazio-designed championship course with a country club aura. Fazio pushed prodigious amounts of earth around, planted 1,000 young trees, carved out numerous water hazards, and added ornamental details. The inspiration for Atunyote, which hosted a PGA Tour event from 2006 to 2010 (winners included Matt Kuchar and Dustin Johnson), was Augusta National. The two-mile club driveway helps build anticipation and set the tone for Atunyote’s immaculate grounds and picturesque routing that overlooks the Mohawk Valley. The practice facilities and clubhouse are as elegant as the golf course.

A Gem!
Beautiful Fazio design. Plenty of room to hit the ball but some great green complexes and terrific bunkering. Conditions were like a private club. I will definitely return.
Just as good as the last time. The flowers and the views are second to none. Not a blade of grass out of place. This course, and Turning Stone as a whole, are a bucket list destination. Plenty of water, especially on the back nine. The greens were rolling at 10.5 so make sure you leave yourself on the proper side of the hole.
Trip Highlight
The entrance to Atunoyte has one of the most spectacular gates you will see. The long and winding road gives you a preview of what the golf course will offer. Doug met us at the bag drop and proved to be an invaluable asset with guidance on where to go to change, check in, and get to the practice facility. Although we failed that since we didn't listen well.
As the host of a Tour event they have all the facilities although the locker room only has two showers. While not the best Fazio course I have played this one is well thought out and offers plenty of challenge depending on the tees you select.
The conditioning was excellent. We were virtually alone on. the course. New carts have GPS systems. Great mix of par threes, plenty of water and bunkers to avoid. After the round we showered and changed and enjoyed a tasty lunch before heading home. A great end to our trip.
What an absolute treat
I don’t even know where to begin. This course was absolutely fantastic. From the dew swept tee boxes to the rolling fairways, Atunyote was in fantastic shape. The breakfast at the clubhouse was second to none. Highly recommend the home fires!
The greens were flawless. The bunkers were so nice to hit out of. I got plenty of practice as I frequented them often.
This course is certainly a tale of two nines as the back nine seemingly has water on every hole.
The practice facility has everything you could ever want to fine tune your game.
I HIGHLY recommend checking out this course if you are ever in the area.
Unreal
I've played courses up and down the east coast..... This, for the $, is by far the nicest track I've been to.... Staff is unbelievably awesome! 7 people there for the day..... What a course!
Best public golf course and experience in upstate NY
Whenever I really want to treat myself, my golf partner and I will drive 90 minutes and spend a day here at Atunyote.
Closest thing to being a member at an exclusive country club, it is well worth the money.
For starters, the minute those huge gates open to let you enter, you know this is a special place.
The grounds are spectacular....no real estate development, no traffic noise and flowers everywhere.
Clubhouse is incredible....built for when the PGA tournament was held here.
Practice facility is beyond exceptional. And they do not mind you spending lots of time even after the round.
Golf course is a 10. It's a Tom Fazio design. Conditions can't be better as they spend lots to maintain it and limit the number of rounds played daily.
Love the layout....not super demanding off the tees but challenging approaches needed. Greens smooth as can be imagined.
Staff are friendly, professional and accommodating.
The sister courses of Shenandoah and Kaluyut are very good but not in the same league/price.
I'm not a casino guy, but I love Turning Stone for golf.
Probably the closest thing to golfing in heaven
What else can I say? Everything from the front gate, to the 18th hole is picturesque and beautiful. Course conditions were immaculate and staff was as friendly as can be. This 7700 yard track can be set up to play as tough as anything out there but the fairways are moderately wide for all golfers to enjoy. The beautiful club house, practice facility, and course passes many private country clubs in every way. Due to the hefty price tag, this track gets very little play. With the beautiful scenery on every hole, it almost feels surreal because you feel like you have the place to yourself. Even though we were practically the only ones on the course, our round took over 5 1/2 hours due to taking pictures and taking in the beauty of the course. With the top notch facility available to anyone playing, the staff makes you feel like you are a member at a country club. Definitely a bucket list course for any golfer.
A tour-like experience in every way
I played in this during the final round of a Golf Channel Am Tour major just a couple of weeks after the PGA Professional Championship, and it was flawless. That was conditioning, of course, but this Fazio layout is pretty much perfect. There's plenty of room to drive the ball, a great variety of holes and some pretty good views. From the clubhouse you can see the majority of the course, which is beautiful parkland layout.
Can't Go Wrong
This is one of the most challenging public courses in New York State. Always extremely well maintained and a pleasure to play. This course requires much more accuracy compared to the sister course Shenandoah. Shenandoah is also beautiful, but is a resort course and is much more forgiving. Beautiful facility.
Epic
Amazing course!! Conditions were absolutely perfect for this late in the season. Had to wait 45 mins due to a frost delay but that's expected during this time of the year. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. In the process of setting up a day to play one more round there before the season is over. Over A++++++ experience.
Hot Deal on a Hot Course!
With a normal rate if $125 , getting this deal for $40 was a steal!! High class golf with a staff to match . Would highly recommend to anybody.
PGA quality
This was one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf I have played. The course was magnificent and the staff was very friendly.
Shenandoah @Turning Stone Casino
You better play these courses out here at Turning Stone Resort and Casino. The best anywhere. Greens run probably about 13 on the stimpmeter. The layouts are fantastic and tough, but manageable with provided beautiful yardage booklets. You will not be disappointed.
Great course for good golfers
This is a very good course with lots of challenging holes. Multiple tees allow you to adjust to suit your game. It is not forgiving as many areas have high grasses just a few yards off the fairway. Also a number of blind tee shots. The course is in excellent condition for a resort course. The course is ranked in the top 100 public courses you can play .
Love the sand ( bunker)
Great course ! I'll be back for more golf if the price is right:)))
Overpriced
Way over priced. Zero service. The day I played there were 5 cars in the parking lot and I had to walk off the course because of slow play. There was no care as to my golf experience that day. I have played and stayed at Pebble, Whistling and Bandon so I have an experience with what service should be at +$200 a round. Course was in excellent condition and greens were impeccable. It was overall a very disappointing day due the non caring staff.
