Bad and getting worse

The place is a dump! I’ve been coming here for decades and this is the worst it has ever been. Several Unplayable greens and the whole course is not being maintained or cared for properly. On top of this, this is the company that took over this year and abruptly ended club membership. Now it’s an over priced, user unfriendly dump. Attendance is fallen way off as well. Just poor management all around by this group. Offer a new club membership to Staten Island residents and fix the darn course.

Slow

Course so slow, 3 tee time out and 5 hour round of golf. At $40 it’s overpriced they need people on the course to get groups moving along

For the price, wish it was better

One thing for sure is that getting rid of the memberships at this location has affected everyone going to this course. Another negative feedback is $20.00 per person for cart is absurd. A few greens were in terrible shape which affected getting better scores. Bunkers are always a nightmare, feels like you are swinging off concrete while in there. I know it’s a round in March but this is nothing new from this course.

Could not complete the round

1st 10 were ok the there were young kids all over the place. There was an 8some in front of me and a 6some in front of them. I walked back to the front 9 and there were groups of 6+ on most of the holes so I left. There was no Ranger or anyone to break them up or speed them up. Pretty poor. It was such a nice day to go and then....Poof!
Not worth the price when you can't complete the round.

I would not recommend anybody to play in Staten Island. They charge $22 for a cot. It is the first week of February. That is a big rip off. Three of the holes, a goose poop all over it.

Needs work

Greens are in really bad shape
It’s almost impossible to putt on at least 4 greens
Hopefully it’s back in order soon enough

Buyer Beware

Some greens are unplayable. The bunkers are filled with rock from Pompeii. Your clubs get stolen by the group behind you. The tee boxes look like dug up tombs. There add random mounds of dirt the height of your waist in the fairway, amongst other unplayable spots. There’s also a few hornets nests here and there. There is no rangers on duty to enforce pace of play. The groundskeeper has been missing since 1982. All this for $82. I know what you’re thinking, you just need a place to play today, but trust me, it isn’t worth it.

It’s South Shore

Overall course is in good shape, but several greens on the back 9 were apparently vandalized but are improving. Pace of play was great, under 3 hours with cart. It’s a fun layout, lot of variety in the holes, for a public golf course at a discounted rate its great value, full rate with cart it’s overpriced.

Southshore wait until next season to play

Although it rained the night before the condition of the course bad. Just about every tee box was mud. A few greens are still recovering from vandalism. Used to be one of my favorite courses and I hope by next season they will have figured out how to get plush tee boxes again. They should not charge more than $40 with cart in the condition it is in.

Bob

Place stinks. It’s up for sale and you can tell. Telling us cart path only when 5 of the greens have longer grass than the fairway and every team box is a pig pen.
