Somers National Review
I have been an avid golfer my entire life. Its not often that I complain about a golf course… actually this is the first one ever. The course was completely dried out dead grass. The tee boxes were mounds of dirt. And the traps were piles of rocks. Because I have played here many times before, I anticipated all of this. One thing I didn't anticipate was how rude starter was to me and my friends. We played on a day that was about 98 degrees, sun beaming down (poor decision on our part). The starter proceed to tell us we cant bring our own waters onto the course. I explained to him that it is excruciatingly hot out. He said yes thats fine but you have to buy them here, and began to legitimately scream at me about it and rant about how cheap I was (meanwhile I was the one spending $80 to play at the worst course in Westchester). During our round, which we couldnt have our waters. We saw the cart girl once on the 4th hole and that was it for the rest of the 14 holes. Not a single drop of liquid on a single hole out there. I thought I was going to faint. I used to play at Somers all the time years ago. Its probably close to 8 years since I played there, and yesterday completely refreshed my memory as to why I’ll never go back again. This also wasn't the first bad encounter I’ve had with employees here. I’m not an aggressive person, but I’m glad to say I’m genuinely happy this place is going out of business.
Disappointed
Just disappointed with the overall experience at this course. I knew the course was very tough (played few times before the pandemic ) and really had a good memory of the course. But it seems covid thing really messed up how it operates the business. The only positive thing I can think of was a pace of the game since no one was around (and I am just wandering why....).

NO
This place is an all around dump, I wouldn’t pay $40 to play here and they charge around $80. First of all the staff is rude and unprofessional, you pay $80 for this trash and they act like you owe them something. As if we’re playing winged foot or something. Then the course, the fairways are non existent and that was even before the drought. The rough is splotchy and unkept and that was like that before the Covid boom. The starter says the greens are in great shape and then there’s a 5x5 dead spot in the middle of the green. You truly can’t make this stuff up, I have not one good thing to say about this place. All and all the worst around, just because you’re located in Westchester doesn’t mean you can serve garbage and call it caviar. Dump, take the $60-$80 and light it on fire, your get more for the money.
Interesting course
Greens are too challenging.
And that is in addition to a relatively narrow and tough course.
We appreciate your honest review. Our course is designed to provide a challenging, but fun golf experience. We hope to welcome you back soon for another round!
