Located just 5 minutes off of the New York State Thruway in Saugerties, The Lazy Swan Golf Course is a championship 18-hole course designed by Golf Architect Barry Jordan. The course has been exquisitely crafted as “a series of linked passages of natural beauty” with each hole presenting its own unique character and challenges for players to overcome. Players will encounter several cascading and reflection ponds, rock outcroppings, dramatic elevation changes, an alpine garden, and beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains.

This is a course that opened in 2008 on the site of the former Katsbaan Golf Club. Barry Jordan designed the Lazy Swan. Hal Purdy designed Katsbaan, which opened in 1990. Sawyerkill, another Hal Purdy design, opened in Saugerties in 1968 and closed following the 1984 season. The land is now used by HITS. Lazy Swan was due to become an 18-hole facility in the fall of 2011.
