Shadow Lake Maintenance Strike?
Shadow Lake is expensive ($60 on weekends) for what you get, (a flat golf course with a basic layout), but it still gets a ton of play due to location and its usual good conditions. This year it seems like things are starting to fall apart a bit. They are taking down a ton of trees and stump grinding right now, so I am not sure if maybe that is where all of the maintenance budget is going? I really hope the staff can get the course back in shape, because its trending closer to Genesee Valley ($33 max), then a premium course like Greystone ($73 max).
• Tee Boxes are beat up but the place gets a ton of play so that is not surprising. They do move them around, so not much they can do here.
• Fairways are in good shape, nothing negative to say here.
• Rough, which they seem to be letting grow out more and more, is full of weeds and little white flowers. Also full of holes from recent stump grinding. They have also stopped mowing under a majority of the trees.
• Greens are seemingly being lost one at a time, with the worst offender right now being the second hole. More than half of Green #2 is completely burned out and many spots are right down to dirt. A few other holes are right behind it. We have had a drier than normal start to June, but if you want to charge a premium, you have to water the greens. Not sure when they can get these back.
shadow lake gold course
this course is in good shape and greens are perfect speed and size for public course. the golf course is close to me but sometimes it is too crowded. it isn't too difficult but not easy. it has a good mix of holes in length . I would play more here but between the leagues and tournaments it is difficult to play 18 holes without waiting along time on each hole.. it is still one of my best places to play.
Great Coursr
The facility is very nice, especially for a public course. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Course gets a lot of play, but is still kept in great shape. Would highly recommend.
Great practice course
this course for the price at the pro shop seems like it might be a terrible 9 holes with bad conditions, but no right when you get ou there you will notice it isn't bad for a $12 par 3 course. The conditions are almost the same as the 18 hole champ course. good greens good fairways. short par 3s with a couple par 4s here and there. This is a course for all skill levels even me it wasn't a breeze shooting a 43. and most of the time people out there play fast. it is an enjoyable short course at an affordable price
Nothing special 18 holes
The holes are all parable with not to many things keeping you from doing so other than water on a few. but trees will get in the way especially on the back. the course is a little bit lengthy but not much to worry about. the conditions are nice expected at the price you pay, this is located in a nice area and the way this course feels makes you want to come back.
this is wrong, this is the championship course review! for pat4pars comment
