HONEST REVIEW- Pluses and Minuses
HONEST REVIEW
-The course conditions were very good.
- Pace of play was average. 4:45 pace
-There were no water jugs anywhere to be found on the course near any tee boxes. I expect a course to provide complimentary water every 6 holes or so to golfers.
- For a course that promotes walking it is not very walker friendly for those with push carts. There are very large cart path curbs everywhere which made it very difficult and annoying to maneuver my electric push cart around the course as I was constantly having to avoid these curbs which resulted in a lot of extra walking. There need to be more curb cutouts for walkers with push carts, especially near the tee boxes, which will allow better access around the course, while still prevent riding carts from going where they aren't supposed to be.
Narrow and bring hard hat
Neighboring holes are right next to you. Blind tee shots create situations where group behind you might hit into you without realizing you are still on hole and in fairway.
Quickly lose balls off fairway and creates a slow pace of play
Nice course, greens were a mess
The course is really nice, but the greens were filed with divots. This is not a cheap course and a bit disappointing that the greens were in such bad shape.
Nice course with hilly layout
The course is not long but play long. Tee box, fairway, and greens are all well maintained.
The trees are very dense. Hitting into wood is difficult to get out. Stay on fairway is best strategy
Great course friendly staff
Course was in great shape. Easy to find the balls. Greens well kept. The 2 guys in the shop were very friendly. The starter was amazing and the cart girls came by frequently.
Great course and all but organization and timing is abysmal
Arrived about 20 minutes early for our tee time, as you respectfully should, only to wait till a half hour passed our scheduled tee time to start as we were instructed to wait for the other members in our respected group. The other twosome called in and said they were running 5 minutes late and ended up arriving way passed that. The twosome that was with my buddy and I ended up leaving halfway through because of the pace of play so our round of 18 ended up taking around 5 and a half hours. If it wasn’t for the friendly staff worker at the first tee box, I probably would’ve been more frustrated and complained more severely.
Fun Layout
Blue Hill is a traditional course with tree lined fairways and many slopes. Greens have lots of undulation as well. Courses like this are enjoyable especially for players wild off the tee where here you will usually find your ball on most errant shots. Always fun playing Blue Hill even though it’s not very long.
