NP Golf
The first hole is a challenging dog leg left par 5 with a background view of the renowned Gunk’s mountains. And that is just the start of a fabulous walk of nine holes. Whether playing another nine or not the Upstairs cafe with the deck overlooking the ninth hole is a friendly warm bar and restaurant where even if it is your first time everyone there knows your name. Larry and Karen Furey make this a golfer’s gem.
Challenging course
I like longer courses, and this passed the the test.
Fairways were forgiving, and the greens were well maintained.
Too bad it’s not 18, but I like how the tee boxes vary to give golfers a new look on the second nine.
I’d play the course again.
Nice course
I liked the layout and length. It provides a nice challenge for the normal golfer.
The greens are well maintained and. fair.
Poor Fairways and Traps
Fairways have weeds(lots of clover) and bare patches. Sand traps don’t have new sand. Greens are ok because it’s the only thing that gets watered. A good beginners course but way to expensive for a 9 hole course that doesn’t have good fairways or traps. Bar/restaurant is good. I would rather spend an extra 10 bucks to goto an 18 hole course like Applegreens which is right up the road. This course is overpriced which makes it hard to explain why the extra money isn’t going to better fairways and traps.
Great 9-hole Course
Staff is extra friendly - thanks for all the help Chico! Greens were moderately challenging and good mix in par lengths. Love the history of this place. A tucked gem.
New Paltz- Good course
Great course for all levels.
Very well maintained.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Good lunch and nice view from the deck.
Early Spring Round
As this was my 1st round at the 9 hole facility, I was pleasantly surprised. . Although, due to the season, there were several wet areas, the course played well. The greens were in excellent condition and held well with early growth.
I look forward to league play here this year and would recommend this course highly
for good play and value .
Great hidden gem of a course
Arrived for a 7 am tee time and was greeted by the pro shop employee who gave us the down low of the course along with information that the greens were being aerated, By the Time my threesome had made it to the third hole we were greeted by the PGA Pro there who was very nice, The greens were somewhat challenging and the fairways easy to hit, and the rough challenging. I would highly recommend this course to everyone from beginners to pros.
Great course - Very good condition
This is a great course. I was expecting a short, executive style golf course but I found a wonderful Hal Purdy designed full sized 9 hole course. Great layout by the river and mountains in New Paltz, NY.
You would pay three times as much if this course was closer to NYC. I'm going to play 9 here every time I come to play Apple Greens.
DanKnows
Fun and challenging course to play. Greens were in great shape. Only complaint was that bunkers were full of rocks. I will return and definitely recommend this course.
Great Course! Great Conditions!
The course is challenging from the White or Blue tees. Play the Senior tees if you want to go low.
The greens are the best I've seen at a public course in Ulster county.
Overall a nice course with very affordable pricing.
Where's The water
Course is nice, won't water course, except when it rains. Ball runs forever. Ponds covered with algae. No water in ball cleaners,so bring something to clean balls. Moves white tees up on weekends to try and speed up play, so not a true handicap. Friendly people.
