For a new yorker there is not a better golf deal
Sr rates in addiction make it a super buy.
There is an easy reservation system 24hours
And most golfers thrill as they stand o. The
    First tee.

It is a public course with private club aura and
Challenges. Their signature hole 12 was redone a few hrs ago. I play it every chance I get.

Montauk Downs is a monster of a course located on land as far east into the Atlantic Ocean as you can go without a passport. That far east, It gets dark early. Take a flashlight.

It is a beautiful course, long, usually windy, always difficult. Some bunkers were expanded a few years back. Play up.

The course is full of ponds, creeks, trees, native grasses, sandy greens, and wildlife. Deers run in packs. Don't freak out if you see fourteen guarding your ball. That fox at the eighth tee won't want you poking around for balls near him. Take extra.

    Best advice:
    1. Remember to look up at the clouds.
    2. Enjoy playing one of the greatest courses on the Eastern Seaboard.

Montauk Downs is one of the toughest golf courses you will ever play. The rough is rough, the wind is a big factor, and the bunkers always make approach shots difficult. In addition, the scenery is beautiful and the grounds crew keeps it in superb shape. And, generally speaking unless weather is a factor, you tee off exactly on time. A must to play on the eastern end of Long Island.
