We just happened to play behind an outing which accounted for the slow play. Otherwise it a pleasant day of golf.
Fun day
Course was a bit backed up when we got there, but the staff was honest about the delays. Once we got passed the 2nd hole things picked up. Some blind spores and elevation made it challenging. The wildlife was wonderful, even watched a coyote chase a fox for a snack. The heat was off the scale , so we couldn’t last more than 14 holes. All and all a nice playable course.
Very good shape
Given the hot and dry days we’ve been having lately, I was very impressed with the course condition. Great job
Great practice course
Has it nice challenges with bends/turns, water, and bunkers. Enjoy the fact that they barely have inclines making it easy to navigate through the course. Just don’t know why they charge taxes and why one can’t pay in advance
Great practice course
Sure has its challenges which makes it great for those that are looking to move up their skills from just a beginner LOL
Great course, well kept, friendly staff
The staff at the pro shop and the starter/ranger were super friendly and helpful, esp as a first timer to this course.
The course is very well kept, and at a $28 price through a TeeOff hot deal, can't beat that for 18 holes!
Course itself was well kept, it was a little wet, so cart path only - which was annoying.
My only gripes are:
1) They don't appear to be registered with whatever service maps out the courses for smartwatches (no idea how this happens), so I couldn't use my app to calculate distances, and
2) Minimal yardage markers on the course. No 150 striped poles, some in-ground plaques - but wasn't able to find these consistently.
I suppose if you have a rangefinder these two could be overcome, but I don't. The scorecard did have yardage and play hints - which helped a little.
Interesting layout…
Many blind shots, outstanding par 3’s and challenging par 5’s make this a fun course if played from the back tees!!
Walked
Staff went above and behind. A+
Enjoyed the 2 people we were teamed up with.
It was closed without notice.
At the entrance of that golf course after driving over an hour, I found that it was closed. I never received any email or any type of notice before I arrived there. I tried to find out another golf course to play, but all other golf courses around there were not available. It was the warmest weekend in this winter. Because of this irresponsible booking management system, I and my wife lost the invaluable opportunity to enjoy the golf rounding. I honestly don't care about Town of Wallkill because I will never go there in the future. But, I think that golfnow.com, as the most widely used golf booking platform, should feel responsible for this loss. I strongly recommend you to install a system to have each member golf course to update you in case that it will be closed for any reason on the day when golfnow.com receives tee time bookings for that golf course and further to inform each customer who reserves a tee time in that course. Without this, golfnow.com may not achieve its business goal to be the "best" and "most influential" golf booking online platform.
