Holland Hills Country Club
About
Located in the Southtowns of WNY between Holland and Colden, Holland Hills Country Club is less than a half hour from Buffalo. The golf course sits atop the highest point in Erie County. From its lofty perch, the elevated tees offer views that stretch across acres of rolling countryside. The championship layout features a variety of challenges including tree-lined fairways, water hazards, and strategically placed sand traps. There are also a few sharp doglegs to watch out for. It's the many elevation changes though, which can range from subtle to dramatic, that are the true test of this golf course. Be prepared for several tricky uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. From the tips, Holland Hills Country Club is quite formidable but multiple sets of tees make it more player friendly for all skill levels.

Great layout, needs a groundkeeper.
This is a spectacular layout! Generous fairways with hidden dangers and just a setting used to its fullest. The greens were painfully slow and the fairways were weedy and did look much different than the rough, just shorter.
I would play it again regardless.
Just one thing. They were mowing, a little later in the day than I would expect, No problem. But, i am used to a staff that is courteous to its players. When a guest is in their view preparing, many will shut down the mower and allow the patron the moment to play. On several occasions, at least 2 different attendants ignored my group and others. This was annoying.
The potential of this track is amazing. I will return when spring is more sprung.
Great course for the money
Good value although the traps could really use some raking to loosen the sand clumps. Rob puts out some fantastic food. Great spot to hold an outing, they are very organized
Holes go to a different direction the way they are numbered that is from the 4 to the 5th
This is really not a good review because the condition of the course was underwater the drainage is very poor so don't go there after a deluge. It was cart path only, so we did not enjoy that from the getgo, your ball was in nothing but puddles our feet were soaked after a few holes. The layout is challenging with a narrow creek running thru the whole place. It rained 2 days prior but the place was still soaked.had we known it was cart path only NO we would not have gone.
The people that worked there were very helpful & polite. ......explaining about all the rain they got. We may go back to try it again when there is a drought
Great Value For The Money
Rated "course conditions" as Fair but we have had record amounts of rain. Leaving the saturated soil out of the control of the owners. Plan to play again when things dry up and cart path only isn't necessary.
Like the course but I've seen it in better shape
I've played this course roughly a dozen times in last three years. I like the course because the holes and greens vary. The price for 18 w/cart beats most other area public courses. However, this time it looked as though a cut was missed on the rough. This made it hard to find your ball and hit out. Some greens were also dried out which was odd since it has rained frequently early in the season. Perhaps this is why the rate has dropped from $25-20 for 18 w/cart. I do enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the course. It's rarely if never bumper to bumper golf.
Based on time of year, course was ok. It does not drain well! Greens very good. Will go back when weather up here improves so course can dry out
Nice Track
Nice well kept course. Long tree lined fairways. Greens rolled well. Played at 7am and pace was great. Would play again.
Great course when dry
I've played here a few times. When the course is dry, it's a great place to play. I won't play there after a rainfall, as there is too much standing water rverywhere.
Nice course but staff is uncaring.
Staff isn't the friendliest. No greeting upon arriving to the club house, to grounds crew starting to mow around the greens while you approach. Usually start golfing around 7 am, with being one of only 4 groups out, staff has no care or concern about mowing whether teeing off or following you down the fairway.
Holland Hills
Course is pretty much wide open, only 2 par 5's, and very dry. Water was supposed to be on many holes, but creek and ponds dried up. Overall it was a friendly place but not too challenging.
Rural & scenic
Set in the hills south of Buffalo, there are nice scenic surroundings. The course is in pretty decent condition, however, the greens were a bit fuzzy & needed cutting. This caused the speed & roll to be slow; sometimes bumpy. Additionally it seemed that many of the holes had not been moved in some number of days as indicated by the growth around the holes which makes them slightly smaller. Still it was an enjoyable round.
Big Bang for your buck!!
Excellent weather, good conditions, great accomodations, friendly staff and all in all fantastic day
great course for beginners
Course is fairly well maintained and price is very reasonable. Great course for beginners or amateurs because the course is very straight and the roughs are forgiving.
Crazy Owner
We had a foursome, course was in good shape. We played alright and bought a total of 20 beers from the course through out the round for the 4 of us.
At the end of our round a large man apparently the owner began verbally assaulting me and got right in my face accusing me leaving beer cans all over his course and bringing beer that we did not purchase from him. I attempted to explain to him and show him the receipts that showed we bought them from him and apologize for leaving beer cans on a couple of the tee boxes (I know that was wrong) but he continued to rant and threaten to call the police if we did not leave. Instead of simply communicating in a rationale way where I would have apologized and the issue would have been resolved.
Tim
Nice round every time
Nice mix of long and short holes.......I have only been there early in the morning ....course is in good shape
Awesome course and great service.
This was my first REAL course. I have been to Delaware Park and see why Delaware is a level 2 course. I have also been to Harris Hill which like a lot. Holland Hills is a beautiful course and it is very challenging. I would definitely go back to this course, I will even bring other friends to enjoy the day there with me.
amen corner is a challange
Hole15 par 5 is the best hole on the course. The fall colors are nice, good time of the year to play this course.
Good course for the price
Second time we have played this course.
Good value for a nice course that offers a reasonable challenge.
Only complaint was that greens (on the back nine) were being aerated on the day we played and due to watering most were almost unplayable due to puddles.
Will definitely play their again
