After half the groups had teed off and there was still 4 or 5 in front of us. And we were on time. Photo submitted by null on 09/25/2014
Old faithful
Grateful for this gem, nestled in the Bronx. Some of the teas need work, however, for the amount of people that play the course On a daily basis, it’s in pretty good shape
. I definitely appreciate the amount of work. It takes to keep The course greens in decent shape. The staff is not very friendly. They never let me forget that I’m playing in the Bronx.. Loll
Great value for a piece of history
Recommend going out in the fall while weather is still nice. If you plan to walk, just know that the course layout is pretty separated, so ends up being a very long walk between holes.
Greens cored and sanded - waste of money
Ban Courtland is usually very good and course keeps getting better with a new greenkeeper and it seems more resources.
Unfortunately on the day we played 9 of the first 14 greens were temporary greens due to coring and sanding (we gave up after 14). When booking this should be made clear it clear and we definitely felt we had paid for what was a incomplete course which was under renovation.
Totally worth playing here, just not when they are doing greens.
Very disappointing
I was really excited to play the oldest golf course in the US. You would think having that distinction this place would have more history to show. The original locker room looks more like a storage room. Very few pictures of the past. The pro shop had very little in it. The course itself was in horrible shape. I get the time in the season but if you’re going to charge prime rates then have better playing conditions. Very disappointing.
Nice day
A nice day for golfing. I walked the course, vart path only several holes, tough walking course.
Repair the tee boxes
The tee boxes are in terrible shape on some holes. This has been a long time concern with no improvements being made. The place could use some upkeep. The greens were in good shape other than the graffiti on 15.
