Go!!!
Great course to work on your irons and it is in great shape!!
Laura and Steve are good people and very helpful.
Nice, short, quick
Decent short 9 hope course in the Hamptons. I wouldn’t travel far to get there but if you’re close and want to play a quick 9 it’s great.
Great little course
When I'm going out to East Hampton to visit a friend, I love to spend some time at Poxabogue in Wainscott. You can hit balls on GRASS if you go way down to the end. And 50 balls costs $5. Booking with GolfAdvisor, I paid a bargain $10 plus GA's $3 booking fee to play. I did rent a pull cart which was $5. It is a 9 hole course. One of the holes is only 67 yards. Most are reasonable lengths; you can hit a driver on at least three. According to my confirmation, I could have played 18 holes, but it was too hot and I didn't have time. People who do not play golf go there for the restaurant which has chairs outside and inside, and a diner-like menu. "Breakfast all Day" the sign says. The course was in excellent shape, including the greens. Since last year, a new, large putting green has been built between the parking lot and the practice range. I was one of the few people on the course, so I zipped around, and hit an extra ball here and there. (Don't te!!).
Executive course for family outing
Staff? Needs to put customers first regardless of who they are. Resident or not.
Steve, Laura, Mike, Rob, and Joe are GREAT!!!!
If you want easy golf in the hamptons, fun short course, in the summer months, minimal traffic, then poxabogue is your best bet! Owners and staff are there for you! They're great!!! Go work on your short game at poxy, it will take strokes off your score.
"Poxy" fun
Enjoyable 9 hole track. Excellent practice facility and huge practice putting greens. Reasonable rates for the area, but GolfNow pricing make this a real value!
Great for beginners
It's a simple short 9 hole course with a lot of par 3's
Staff was great, and this is a great place to learn the game of golf.
Very rustic, greens are tired looking. But you don't pay a lot so it is perfect for the price.
it has come a long way ...
I have been playing this course off and on for the past 25 years just as a casual distraction on days that I wasn't going to play a regulation size course and with my kids and grandkids just for fun. But the new mgmt staff that has taken it over this year has made changes to the pro shop and even more important to the course that will have me going back to play it now for score !!! Somehow they took this charming but very un-manicuredpooly maintained layout and have made it look like a real course !!! By letting the fescue grow up between the fairways, improving the grass in the fairways, cutting a 1st cut of rough before the fescue, along with somehow getting more grass to grow on the fairways and greens !!! Plus they r now cutting and rolling the greens so that u don't need a bazooka to hit it 10' for the 1st time I can ever remember !!! Not sure why I'm writing this glowing review since now more people will probably try it and it will be harder to get times and impact pace of play ...
Oversized (not by much) nice par 3 course
Well, poxy is a staple out here amongst golf enthusiasts on the eastern end of the island. It was sad to read about the guys who ran this before and got into some legal trouble and were forced to leave.. That opened the door for new management and new life to our local beloved course... Brand new mats on the driving range (awesome!), greens and fairways manicured to as nice as they can be this time of year, or as nice as I can remember there! The staff is super nice and their under new management opening prices had a lot of us there everyday (I hope they go back to winter off season pricing sometime in October, that would be nice)! There's a great breakfast place that's part of the building too, don't miss that before or after you hit a bucket of balls!
Fast pace great round of golf
This course is an ideal course for someone who wants to practice their short game and build confidence in the putting without having to pay a high price for a round of 9 holes. Great value!!!
