The Links at Hiawatha Landing sits along the banks of the Susquehanna River, nestled between the Finger Lakes and the Catskill Mountains. It's one of New York's premier upscale public golf courses. Despite the name, the course has more of a heathland layout than a true links course since it lacks the seaside location that is the cornerstone of traditional Scottish links golf courses. The design still has many links features though including windswept sand bunkers. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic and the tall grasses make accuracy a necessity. Water comes into play on seven holes but there aren't any forced carries or blind shots, making the golf course approachable for even high handicappers. The Links at Hiawatha Landing finishes with a challenging par 5 that doglegs left around a large pond.

The course is a great layout. Everything pretty much sets up in front of you and if you can hit fairways, you can score well. If your driver is off, its better to leave it in the bag because of the tall fescue which lines most of the fairways. Otherwise bring alot of balls. The greens, while not exceptionally fast roll very well. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend playing this course.
